Clare Cousins

Financial Planner

Clare Cousins’ passion for building long-term client relationships led her to join Veritas Wealth in 2015. She has a post-graduate diploma in Financial Planning and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional.

Clare completed her Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management (with distinction) through the University of South Africa. Clare has completed her UK Level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice, and has been accredited by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment as a Certified Financial Planner in the UK.  She is currently under supervision for the provision of advice in the UK.

Years of waitressing while studying taught her valuable people skills, but with her interest still in finance, she started her career in Asset Management. Through her interactions with different specialist areas of the industry, Clare soon realised that her passion lay in building and maintaining long-term relationships with private clients, and she moved into Syfrets Private Bank, providing advice to clients and trusts.

After taking an extended break from corporate life to focus on raising two small children, she was surprised at how much she missed interacting with clients and the privilege of being able to learn about their lives and aspirations while helping them plan for their future. Having been fortunate not to have ever needed to sell products or meet sales targets, she was only willing to continue her career in an advice-led business with the highest ethical standards and a culture where the client’s best interests are always the priority. This led her to Veritas.

Clare lives in the southern suburbs with her husband Dave and her two children, Christopher and Anna. She is passionate about trail and road running, especially with her 5am-Group, and loves river kayaking. Spending time with family and close friends keeps her happy, while her lifelong dream is to travel and have adventures in exotic, unspoilt destinations.
