At Veritas, we are committed to making a positive impact on our clients, our staff and our community. We believe that our success should also benefit the community around us.
One of our core values is “Community and Giving.” For many years, Veritas has been actively involved in various initiatives that support this value. We have generously supported Vuka Rugby and CoolPlay, as well as participated in numerous initiatives organised by JDI. Through JDI we have been part of the Cableway Charity Challenge for the past 10 years.
Veritas has sponsored several scholarships to deserving scholars through the Altius et Latius Trust at Rondebosch High School. Most recently, we have supported the Relate Water Walk Week, an event that both our staff and clients have enjoyed participating in.

A learner’s ability to succeed academically, professionally and personally is strongly correlated with their social & emotional intelligence. However, these critical skills are not being taught consistently (if at all) in the schools or homes where we work.
CoolPlay’s primary objective is to address this gap by teaching valuable life skills, setting learners up for success as they navigate life. CoolPlays’ mission is to empower children from underprivileged communities in South Africa with life-changing psychosocial skills through team sports, building character, resilience, and emotional well-being on and off the field.

The JDI Foundation
The JDI Foundation is a charitable organisation in South Africa that helps local community projects needing support.
JDI is made up of volunteer groups, formed by like-minded people who want to help those who need it. They pool their funds and, more importantly, their time, resources and skills.
These JDI groups work to contribute in a meaningful way to uplift the local community organisations around them, often supporting projects that cannot access formal funding. Instead of just handing over cash donations, JDI members are encouraged to volunteer in person, and be part of the positive change we need to see in the world.
The Cableway Charity Challenge
The Cableway Charity Challenge is a fundraising event which has been running annually for the past 14 years. This unique trail run involves participants doing a circular route climbing up Platteklip Gorge, running across Table Mountain and taking the cableway down as many times as possible between sunrise and sunset during the event. Each lap is 5.5km in distance, 760 metres of climbing, and will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
The event is hosted by the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company. Participants (runners, walkers, joggers, anyone!) raise funds through sponsorships and wherever possible expenses for the event are sponsored or minimised, with the aim being to distribute as close to 100% of all money raised to their beneficiaries.
Relate Water
Relate Water raises funds to bring clean, life-changing water and opportunities to rural South African villages.
Their implementation partner, Innovation Africa, South Africa, installs solar-powered water pumps throughout the villages they support. Delivering safe, instantly available drinking water, and all its transformative ripple effects, to the entire community. Clean, running water is just the start. Imagine the opportunities this will create for women who no longer have to spend hours each day searching for water. For children who no longer have to miss school. For people no longer plagued by avoidable illnesses. The ripple effect of water unlocks untapped potential and prosperity for these villages and their people: a true multiplier effect of opportunity and hope.

Even though Rondebosch offers quality education at a fraction of the cost of comparable private schools, academic fees are out of reach for many. The Altius et Latius Trust offers businesses the opportunity to help secure the future of our country by providing scholarships to these young leaders
