Clare Cousins, one of our Veritas Wealth financial planners recently completed her UK postgraduate Level 4 diploma in Investment Advice (Financial Planning & Advice) to assist the growing number of Veritas client’s moving to the United Kingdom.
In recent years, we have seen a gradual increase in the number of clients spending more time working or traveling abroad, or even leaving South Africa permanently. Most of these clients have chosen the UK as their home or workplace.
Global mobility has important financial planning implications and it has become increasingly apparent that these clients need independent advice in other jurisdictions, in particular the UK, and that advisers there have limited, if any, knowledge on the SA financial landscape.
While the numbers of clients leaving are relatively low, we have also noted a significant number of our clients have adult children living abroad.
Our financial adviser’s international knowledge and experience helps to bridge the gap between jurisdictions, which is vital to ensure that the best interests of clients’ (and their future successors) are served.
Over the years, we have formed strong relationships with our clients, and would like to retain, and build, on these relationships through the generations.
